Dear Young Adults,
First a BIG thank you to Christopher Edmonston for coming to bible study last week, to Tyler Craft for moderating the session, and to Jenn King for tweeting! I hear it was a great time and meaningful conversation. If you were there, be sure to tell Christopher how much you enjoyed having him!
We’ll have another guest – Nolan Huizenga – next week on Aug 29th when we go to walk the Labyrinth at Millbrook Baptist Church. Details below.
Here’s what’s going on in August/September….
- Wednesday Night Bible tomorrow night at 6:45 in K300. We’ll continue our late summer study of Barbara Brown Taylor’s book, An Altar in the World. We will be discussing chapters 4-5 this week. Come with your questions, your insights, and your criticisms, so we can have a good discussion! J
- Wednesday Night Fellowship at Cameron Bar and Grill. Come after Bible Study to have a drink or dinner together. This is a great way to get to know folks in the group. We’ll be there by 8:15-8:30 or so, so if you can’t make bible study, please consider joining us then
- Wednesday Night Bible Study on August 29th: Labyrinth Walking with Nolan Huizenga! In conjunction with reading the An Altar in the World chapter “The Practice of Walking on the Earth” (ch 4), we’ll have a chance to test out the spiritual practice of labyrinth walking at Millbrook Baptist Church and have a discussion of the chapter afterwards. We’ll gather for dinner after, too, so plan to join us. Thanks, Nolan, for coming out to be with us!
- Young Adults Summer Blogging Project continues!! Each Friday, June-September, we’ll get to enjoy a post from a young adult on one of their favorite pieces of scripture. This week’s reflection is by Emilie Freeman. (Thanks, Emilie!) Save our blog’s URL in your blog reader and check back in to read the reflections!!
